Chicago Sommelier Announces Job Departure Via Twitter

As we know, with all the food world personalities that are Twitter today, the micro-blogging site has become a popular new platform for breaking big news and airing work related grievances. Just a week after the Times pretty much blew the lid on the phenomenon, we learn that Amy Payne, sommelier at Chicago-area hotspot NoMi, stepped down from her post via Twitter last night.

The news came a day after the Chicago Tribune called the restaurant's publicist to confirm the state of her employment and got a vague answer. Today, the Tribune learns that Pascal will now be studying for her advanced sommelier degree, and working at a new yet-to-open steakhouse.
