2010 Vendy Awards Coming to LA

New, 3 comments

Midtown Lunch reports that the 2010 Vendy Awards, honoring the best in street vendor food, will be held in LA this year on May 15. The event—which is organized by the Street Vendors Project—has previously been held in New York City. Tickets to attend are $50 and include an unlimited sampling of the street vendor goods plus beer and wine, culminating in an awards ceremony.

But the Vendys are not really a competition so much as a celebration of local vendors, with all proceeds going to the Street Vendor Project, a non-profit group that supports the rights of vendors across the country. The nominations are determined via submissions on the organization's website. So, if you have a favorite Korean truck, barbecue truck, taco truck, Korean barbecue taco truck —any kind of food truck really—that you'd like to nominate, please head over to the Vendys site.
