After sampling every burger at last week's SoBe '10 Burger Bash, Josh Ozersky declares that the hamburger is at a creative crossroads. While there is a lot of experimentation in burgerland these days, Ozersky notes: "The orthodox cheeseburger, with its pillowy white enriched bun, its Pythagorean square of tangerine-colored American cheese, and its blissfully unadulterated (and unspiced) beef, is an invention that cannot really be improved upon. Like sashimi or peaches and cream, it's a gastronomic endpoint." [TIME]
