Top Cheffer Brian Hill Gets Into the LA Food Truck Game

New, 5 comments

Top Chef Season 1 contestant Brian Hill's newest LA project, the Comfort Truck, made its grand debut on the streets of LA yesterday. Considering the recent truck craze and comfort food craze, we'd say this is a pretty safe bet for the chef—he'll be serving things like barbecue beef sliders, jumbo chicken wings and something called "crack chips" from the mobile restaurant. Naturally, the truck will be setting up shop at a different location everyday, and can be tracked via their twitter page, @comforttruck.

Since Brian left Top Chef, he has worked as a personal chef for the stars, with stints cooking for Mary J. Blige, Eddie Murphy and P. Diddy. A few of the menu items at the Comfort Truck —including those "crack chips"— were created when he was cooking for these famous people. While the truck will be making the rounds daily, Hill has already noted that he plans to do a lot of catering and private events with the mobile kitchen. Hill clearly knows a lot about this kind of thing, not only because of his experience working with Blige and Diddy , but also because he is one of the stars of The Private Chefs of Beverly Hills, which, by the way, debuts April 9.

It is perhaps worth noting the aesthetic similarities between this Top Chef food truck, and another that we learned about yesterday.
