Julia & Julia, the little food blog-to-book-to-movie that could, continues to cut a swath through the awards landscape, with this morning's announcement that Meryl Streep has been nominated for Best Actress for playing Julia Child in the film. While this is of course, fantastic news, it is worth noting that Nora Ephron did not receive a nom for Best Adapted Screenplay, nor did Amy Adams get a nod for her portrayal of Julie Powell with a great haircut. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Still, this is a huge moment for chefs on screen, and food movies in general, and if Meryl doesn't win, at least there's always the chance that she'll be tapped for the lead role in Garlic and Sapphires.
