Last week, the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were handed out in Paris, honoring the best cookbooks from the past year. A few of the notable wins in the American categories included Marcus Sameulsson's New American Table taking home a Special Jury prize, Mark Bittman's Food Matters winning in the Best Food Literature category, and Sandra Lee' Semi Homemade, nabbing a second place honor in the Best Cookbook Series category. Curiously, Gloria Estefan's Etefan Kitchen won third place in the category of Best Latino Cookbook. [Gourmand Awards]
