After we gave SFoodie's editor John Birdsall a hard time for comparing the outing of LA Times food critic S. Irene Virbila to "a form of rape," he's now changed the title from "Outing of L.A. Times Restaurant Critic a Kind of Rape" to "Outing of L.A. Times Restaurant Critic Crosses the Line." In a comment, Birsdall wrote: "The first version of this post used the metaphor of rape to describe S. Irene Virbila's treatment at Red Medicine. Though I wanted to express my feelings about the violence of the restaurant's assault on Virbila, and her reported feelings of humiliation, it was a poorly chosen metaphor, considering the seriousness of the crime of non-metaphorical rape.
