Foursquare Launches Pictures and Comments

Photo: Foursquare

Foursquare has added two new features: photographs and commenting, both of which are available features on competitor Gowalla. When the new features launch (at first only on the iPhone and website, then on Android next week, and later on Blackberry), users will be able to check-in with photographs or leave them as tips on a venue. Users will also be able to comment on individual check-ins.

As part of the feature launch, they've teamed up with Foodspotting, a food photography site that focuses on the best individual dishes at restaurants and allows you to search by dish instead of restaurant. It's not clear exactly how they'll utilize the service, but the ability to search for an individual craving based on your location as opposed to sifting through lists of restaurants sounds appealing.
