Did TV Guide Lighten Padma Lakshmi's Skin Tone?

The cover of this week's TV Guide with Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio posing at a Johnny Rocket's is causing some controversy: Some blogs are making accusations that the magazine intentionally lightened her skin tone. Maybe it's just the lighting? Or maybe she's been living in a top secret Top Chef bunker? Whatever the case, there's clearly a fair amount of Photoshop going on.

Also amusing: Monica A. Reyhani, one of Bravo's blogger robots thought the cover was so amazing that she "immediately requested a framed copy." Really? Shut up.
