Oh dear: ABC announced the 30 Bachelorettes for the upcoming season of The Bachelor today, and one of them is Britt Billmaier from Woodinville, WA, whose occupation is listed as a "food writer." (Other non-official bios say she is "a chef and works for a food magazine" but we could not find any evidence of cheffage or a magazine gig.) The internet is indeed searchable, and here are things that we discovered: From a Linkedin profile (that's down now), we learn she attended the California Culinary Academy from 2009-2010. She's also done food styling and writing for the San Francisco Chronicle. And surprise: like many twenty-something females in America, there are sexy photographs (maybe nsfw) of her on the internet!
As far as food writing goes, we could not find much! She wrote some articles ("Welcome summer with sweet chilled melon") and also some restaurant reviews. She also did some blogging for the Chronicle's food blog Inside Scoop San Francisco — really all she did was restaurant review recaps, but she wrote for a blog, ergo she is indeed a blogger. She also apparently did a bunch of food styling (check out that carrot and that ball of cheese!)
We reached out to the Chronicle for comment about her employment status, here is what they told us: "Britt was an intern and freelance contributor here for several months, both for the newspaper section and the website. She left a few months ago. She was great while here and we're hoping she does well on the show."
Guess who we're rooting for in the Bachelor 2011! Also, urg, now we have to watch the Bachelor?
