After she discovered her article "A Tale of Two Tarts" had been reprinted in Cooks Source Magazine (a small New England food mag) without her permission, writer Monica Gaudio wrote the editor requesting an apology and a donation to the Columbia School of Journalism. What she got instead was a letter from an irritated editor who told her "the web is considered public domain" (it's not), and also "We put some time into rewrites, you should compensate me!" The magazine's Facebook page is, of course, blowing up. [LJ via @hels]
