Former New York Times critic William Grimes chimes in on the debate surrounding reviews of expensive restaurants: "I'd love to survey the spending habits of concerned readers of the restaurant reviews–I'd place a solid bet that the people outraged at a $27 entree do not blink at spending quite a bit on iPhones, stereo equipment, cars, clothes and concert tickets. They place a value on these pleasures and pay accordingly." Which sort of assumes everyone can afford all of those things to begin with, but okay. [NYT]
