Josh Ozersky Goes to Portland

clyde-common-portland-150.jpgFood writer Josh Ozersky headed to Portland, Oregon (which he dubs "America's new food Eden") ostensibly to do the tasting menu at Naomi Pomeroy's Beast. Somewhere along the way, however, he got distracted by the "big appetites, broad strokes...improvisational mood, and the bliss of simple expectations" of the city's culinary offerings. He ended up getting sick because he ate too many sandwiches at Bunk, and couldn't make his reservation at Beast. (He apologized.) [Time]
