NYC's French Culinary Institute Expands to the Bay Area

The FCI is headed to the West Coast. The parent of the highly-respected culinary school the French Culinary Institute in New York City — The International Culinary Center — announced yesterday that it will "assume ownership and operation" of The Professional Culinary Institute in Campbell, CA. It is to be a new branch campus of FCI and will be called, get ready for this: The French Culinary Institute of The International Culinary Center in California.

Said CEO and Founder Dorothy Cann Hamilton, "A West Coast campus provides us with a wonderful opportunity to expose students to the rich agricultural and viticulture heritage of the Bay Area, while also offering another geographic base from which to explore other cuisines and cultures."

And they're not done yet! The press release is clear about more global expansion: "The International Culinary Center is also exploring additional avenues to provide knowledge and expertise to an ever-widening audience including new programs in the estate management arena as well as the potential expansion of international operations to Europe and Asia."
