Dallas Critic Loses 28 Pounds on "The Restaurant Critic's Diet"

New, 1 comment

Leslie Brenner, restaurant critic and dining editor at the Dallas Morning News, lost 28 pounds over the past year on what she's calling "The Restaurant Critic's Diet." What she calls "a different kind of diet, a diet on which nothing was forbidden." Basically book-deal bait, she's already written her tagline: "Eat like a restaurant critic, but don't look like one!"

How she did it: Brenner figured out a calorie intake/work out balance that would allow her to lose weight, and managed the whole thing with the Lose It! iPhone app. The hardest part? Brenner still had to review restaurants for her job: tasting menus and Texas barbecue occasionally meant severely restricting herself at other meals.
