Amanda Cohen Is Working on a Comic Book Cookbook

New, 3 comments

New York chef Amanda Cohen is writing a cookbook, and not just any cookbook: a graphic novel cookbook of recipes from her Dirt Candy restaurant. Cohen had put off writing a cookbook for a long time because she "couldn't think of a reason to add yet another cookbook to the already crowded shelves," but it seems the graphic novel concept was too good to pass up.

Cohen will be working with artist Ryan Dunlavey, who previously won awards for his work on Action Philosophers. The tentatively titled Dirt Candy Cookbook will come out Summer 2012 from Clarkson Potter. Paired with Anthony Bourdain's graphic novel about "ultraviolent food nerds" titled Get Jiro, two makes it officially a trend.
