Last night Anthony Bourdain dropped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to promote his book Medium Raw. Apparently host Jimmy Fallon's mom is a really big fan of his — she once cut the line at a book signing. Bourdain remembered, "She's good with the elbows, she was taking down culinary students twice her size." We also learned more things about Bourdain's graphic novel about ultra violent food nerds: His co-author is Joel Rose and it'll be published on DC Comic's Vertigo imprint.

Also, before Bourdain stepped into a kitchen, he wanted to be an underground cartoonist — he was a collector and a self-described "comic book nerd." But sadly, he doesn't have his collection anymore: "It all comes back to drugs, doesn't it? I sold them at a low point in the 80s. I really regret that decade."
