The San Francisco, Bay Area & Wine Country 2011 Michelin Guide just came out, and it appears Bay Area legend Chez Panisse lost its single star and dropped off the list entirely. The restaurant had maintained a single star rating since the debut of the guide in the area in 2006.
After four years of being the only three-starred restaurant in the area, Thomas Keller's The French Laundry finds itself in the company of fellow Napa eatery The Restaurant at Meadowood, helmed by chef Christopher Kostow. Meanwhile, Coi, Cyrus, and Manresa maintained the two-star level, and the area as a whole added five one-star restaurants. Click over to Eater SF for the full list and the inside scoop.
