Alton Brown was in New York last week for some media events, and where did he go in his spare time? New York Academy of Medicine, to look at ancient cookbooks: "I'm thinking about doing a project about the history of cookbooks. I'm fascinated by where we are in the culinary world, and how we got here, and I'm really interested in tracing that back to its genesis in books." [GS]
