Starbucks Baristas Too Fast, Told to Slow Down

New, 1 comment

If the line at your local Starbucks is a little longer soon, it's because Starbucks employees have been told to pay a little more attention to each drink they make. Baristas are now supposed to focus on just two drinks at a time, and make steamed milk for each drink individually.

While this move is intended to increase the quality of each drink, it also has some employees worried that it will slow down the drink-making process considerably. And lead to longer lines, crankier customers, and invariably, you being late for something. Which seems probable? Oddly, Starbucks "insists the new procedures will eventually hasten the way drinks are made." That seems like backwards logic to us, but whatever they say.
