Today, food rule-maker Michael Pollan appeared on Oprah to discuss and promote his new book, Food Rules. In the segment, Pollan came off very charismatic, doing his usual spiel about eating unprocessed foods, navigating the "treacherous landscape" that is the American supermarket and so on. But the best material might have been the part where Oprah points out how people in Greenland eat seal blubber regularly, to which Pollan responds that the seal-eaters—and also the African people who drink cow's blood—are still healthier than Americans because Twinkies don't exist there.
