Coming directly in the wake of the Guy Fieri Road Show, now there's this: the M Resort—the casino best known for hosting the Vegas season of Top Chef—will eschew typical Vegas entertainment like Cirque du Soleil and Wayne Newton, instead opting to start a live cooking gimmick show. Really. It's called Martini Time with Chef Tina Martini and is being billed as "the only show of its kind in Las Vegas." Excited yet?
The 60-minute show will run five days a week, will be modeling on television cooking shows, and will take place in the same place (Studio B Show Kitchen Buffet, pictured) that Top Chef was filmed. Read: the M Resort finally found a second use for its cooking studio. Ticket prices range from $40 to $60, which is about $40 to $60 more than you'd spend if you just watched a cooking show on television. But maybe if live cooking shows really take off, future generations will look back at Guy Fieri as a true pioneer, ahead of his time. Just like Benjamin Franklin.
