Troubling Signs?

2010_01_barmasa.jpgRyan Sutton's review of Shaboo, Chef Masa Takayama's extravagant new CityCenter spot (aka the country's most expensive restaurant), was noted in this morning Listage, but one line deserves special mention. Despite being about one month old, it turns out the $500 hot pot meal isn't so popular in the earlygoing: "It’s too bad a more affordable hot-pot menu isn’t available to woo unfamiliar eaters and draw more people in. The Shaboo management tells me the restaurant served sizable groups on its opening week, but that night I was the only diner at the restaurant throughout my two-hour meal." [Bloomberg, previously]
