Featured in the October issue of Gourmet and just put up online is a lengthy list of 100+ restaurants deemed to be "worth the money." The logical guess would be that the national list would be one of upscale restaurants worth a splurge in these tight times or one of cheap eats, but no. It's a random, scattershot medley of, well, really good restaurants—from the high-end (NYC's Le Bernardin, Chicago's Alinea) to the mid-range (DC's Central Michel Richard, Napa's Ubuntu, NYC's DBGB), all the way down to bargain eats (Tuscan taquerias and Portland's roadside Thai shack).
