The Early Word on Philippe's West Hollywood Outpost

Already Philippe Chow's first West Coast branch of Philippe has been open for almost exactly two months now (the others are in Miami, NYC, East Hampton, and Mexico). Whew, that flew by, didn't it? Much ado was made about the splashy opening earlier this year (lawsuits notwithstanding), and despite menu items like the famed Peking duck, this is the kind of place that foodies looked at with suspicion, though no one should be surprised that it appeared on a recent episode of The Hills. Anyway, by now many have complimented and complained, so before Miss Irene Virbilia files her take on Philippe in the next few weeks, it's high time to round up the internet buzz and roll out another edition of Good News/Bad News.
