In New York City, the Department of Transportation has begun quietly seeking proposals for the Plaza Food Court, a grouping of four food kiosks in NYC's Financial District (not to be confused with the food court Todd English is planning for the Plaza Hotel). Apparently the city wants more diversity and better offerings; besides, fast food is so hot right now, right? Anyway, the story gets really interesting when Eater NY learns that representatives from Danny Meyer's company were checking out the space too, meaning that there could be even more to add to the imminent Great Shake Shack World Domination Plan of 2010, which already has Kuwait, Miami and more NYC spots en route.
