Although both critics and audiences loved Julie & Julia, Hollywood generally has a hard time making good movies about chefs (see here, here, and here for proof). The new film La Cucina, seems to be no exception to the rule. It's about a bunch of 30-somethings, several of whom are chefs, dealing with typical Hollywood 30-something problems over one drama-fueled, food-filled night in the kitchen. You may recognize a few fresh faces in the crowd here - one of the stars of the L-Word plays one of the chefs, and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks plays some sort of food-relishing temptress. Not suprisingly, La Cucina lands direct to DVD on January 12th, check out the trailer above. Mangia!
