Now that Bouchon is up and running in Beverly Hills, next big deal restaurant to watch in Los Angeles could be the revamped bistro version of Bastide. The high-profile West Hollywood restaurants has been through several (oftentimes tumultuous) incarnations in the past few years, from hotshot chef Walter Manzke's reign to its more recent 3.5 stars under Paul Shoemaker. Now, it's been reborn as a more casual bistro with chef Joseph Mahon in the kitchen. It reopens for lunch this week.
