Robuchon Taiwan Opens, Zoe Closes, Oyster Wars Heat Up

TAIWAN—Last week, Michelin star-collector Joel Robuchon opened his very first restaurant in Taipei. It's yet another branch of the L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon concept for the French chef who already boasts restaurants in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Vegas and countless others, while continuing to open more new places. NEW YORK—Soho's 18-year-old standby Zoe will shutter at the end of the week. The owners blame the end of their lease and changes in the neighborhood for the closure, noting that “It’s no longer a bastion of the art world the way it was ... We can only tweak the concept so far." [Eater NY]

NEW ORLEANS—The ongoing Oyster Wars continue to heat up, and the city council has voiced its support: "The council gave 6-0 approval Thursday to a resolution saying it 'stands with Louisiana's congressional delegation in supporting the local oyster industry and vigorously opposes the severe burden that it said proposed Food and Drug Administration regulations would impose on the industry." The proposed regulations would ban raw oysters between April and October in all New Orleans restaurants. [T-P]
