BOOM: Shake Shack to be Unleashed Upon Miami

Sit down for this one: future mayor of New York City Danny Meyer has unveiled plans to open a Shack Shack in Miami... and on the day that Eater Miami launches! Biggity-boom. Not only will the Miami branch will be the first Shake Shack outside of New York, but it will be the entire Union Square Hospitality Group's first venture outside of New York period.

Shake Shack South will be located along Miami Beach’s pedestrian promenade in the crazy new building 1111 Lincoln Road from developer Robert Wennett and starchitects Herzog and de Meuron (see also: the bird's nest from the Olympics in Beijing), will involve "lush water gardens," and is currently slated to open in spring/summer 2010.
