To ring in the new season of Iron Chef America on January 3, Michelle Obama will make a cameo in Kitchen Stadium to reveal the secret ingredient: anything that grows in the White House garden. The episode, filmed yesterday, will try to raise awareness about Obama's crusade to reduce childhood obesity through better school lunches and such. The battle itself was a tag-team affair, pitting White House executive chef Cristeta Comerford and Bobby Flay against Emeril Lagasse and Mario Batali, the latter who the Times describes as someone "who might seem an unlikely spokesman for eating in moderation."
