Given the fact that Las Vegas has been struggling so much during the recession, one has to wonder why businesses there—especially the host M Resort—aren't doing more to capitalize on the Top Chef phenomenon: "The new, way-south spot hit the jackpot with its selection as the season’s home property, and, so far, it’s done absolutely, positively nothing to capitalize on that. This is a resort owned by a 35-year-old wunderkind, and it has something called a 'Social Media Team,' but neither the property’s blog nor its Twitter feed has ever used the words Top Chef."
