Yesterday, Daniel Boulud announced that he would be opening up a restaurant in a fancy Singaporean casino/resort, and now NRN reveals that D-Bigs is just one of six mega-chefs that will be moving into the mega-development (rendered to the right). Joining him in Singapore will be Wolfgang Puck, Mario Batali, Tetsuya Wakuda of Sydney, plus two more top-flight chefs who already have Michelin three-star establishments of their own: Guy Savoy of Paris and Santi Santamaria of Barcelona. The Batali concept will likely be that rumored Mozza spinoff.
More on the insanity:
"Singapore will become the culinary epicenter of Asia," said Thomas Arasi, president and chief executive of Marina Bay Sands. "The quality of these six chefs will make Marina Bay Sands a dining experience that is beyond comparison."Really, with the starry pedigrees of the lot, the Marina Bay Sands is just showing off at this point.
