Yesterday, President Barack Obama spent less than four hours in New Orleans, but he still managed to squeeze in a to-go lunch order from Dooky Chase, Leah Chase's Nola institution. Obama had previously visited the restaurant back in 2008, and he's hosted Chase at the White House twice as well. For this particular lunch order ("enough to share"), Chase provided the president with gumbo, shrimp Creole and fried chicken. For further reading on Leah Chase, check out Michael Bauer's blog, which coincidentally profiles the 86-year-old woman today.
