Slow Food shaman Michael Pollan was supposed to give one of his lectures at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo today, but a big agribusiness (Harris Ranch Beef Co.) threatened to pull donations to the school because the lecture would have been "an unchallenged forum to promote [Pollan's stand against conventional agricultural practices." Proving once again that money talks, the lecture has been turned into a full-fledged panel discussion involving Pollan, a meat-science expert and one of the largest organic growers in the U.S. [LAT]
