Today, Eater returns to Stockholm, Sweden to focus on 11 spots that have opened within the last year and are garnering serious buzz and acclaim. It's been nearly two years since the last Stockholm heatmap, and this time around food and wine editor Per Styregård has shared his picks for the hottest drinking and dining his city currently has to offer.
Among the picks is a restaurant serving Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén's take on British pub food (The Flying Elk), as well as its sister wine bar (Gaston). Two of Stockholm's most admired chefs — Tom Sjöstedt and Daniel Räms — have teamed up to create a laid-back restaurant that is the city's hardest to book at the moment (Lilla Ego). Meanwhile another pair of chefs, Magnus Villnow and Henrik Norén, are running a lunch-focused newcomer with a Nordic bent (Gro). And Stockholm's old shipyard has a dreamy new restaurant that is one part bistro and one part fine dining (Oaxen Krog & Slip). Here now, the Eater Heatmap to Stockholm, a chronicle of the city's restaurants of the moment.
