Today, Eater returns to Hong Kong to focus on 11 spots that have opened within the last year and are garnering serious buzz and acclaim. As was the case the last time around, blogger and critic Janice Leung Hayes, who runs e_ting the world based out of Hong Kong, has shared her picks for the hottest dining her city currently has to offer.
Among the picks are what just might be Hong Kong's first New Nordic restaurant (NUR), as well as a newcomer from Chef Fung of the two-Michelin-starred Cantonese gem Dynasty serving Chinese classics (Mott 32). The Yardbird group has expanded its Hong Kong offerings with what Leung Hayes describes as a "hipster sandwich joint" (Sunday's Grocery). Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton has returned, too, with his third Hong Kong concept (Aberdeen Street Social). Beyond that, there's also a new bar celebrating inauthentic Chinese food (Fu Lu Shou), a burger restaurant with a secret menu (The Butcher's Club Burger), and much more. Here now, the Eater Heatmap to Hong Kong, a chronicle of the city's restaurants of the moment.
Think there are any glaring omissions? You know what to do.
