Not only is San Francisco's Parisian market Bon Marché a source for food, flowers and even freshly brewed beer, but it's also a den of cocktails. The recently launched facility, named after chic French department store Le Bon Marché, mixes and muddles a slew of seasonally-changing libations inspired by vintage French cinema, which involve ingredients like carrot-infused Campari and sesame-infused honey. Below, bar director Eric Quilty shares his super simple recipe for the herbal Je t’aime, Je t’aime.
Je t’aime, Je t’aime
Makes 1
1 1/2 ounces extra dry vermouth, such as La Quintinye Royal
1/2 ounce Green Chartreuse
1/2 ounce Rio Red grapefruit juice
1 dash Angostura orange bitters
club soda
Add vermouth, Green Chartreuse, grapefruit juice and bitters to cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a high ball glass. Top with soda water and garnish with lime wheels.
