Several Chili's locations are chipping in to help the Charleston church where a mass shooting took place last week. According to WBTW, restaurants in the neighboring South Carolina towns of Carolina Forest, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Florence are donating 10 percent of Monday evening's sales to Emanuel AME Church.
Chili's is just the latest restaurant to step up: Scores of Charleston restaurants are lining up to donate to the church, with many giving up to 100 percent of sales on a given day.
No matter the amount, it's encouraging to see large corporate chains putting community over profit: A Texas restaurant donated 100 percent of Thursday's sales to an employee who was diagnosed with cancer.
