The sugary frozen coffee drink known as the Frappuccino turns 20 years old this year, and to commemorate this momentous occasion Starbucks is unleashing a limited-time-only birthday cake flavor.
Per a press release, the drink will be available March 26 through 30. It's not exactly a new flavor per se, but rather a combination of existing flavors: a vanilla bean Frappuccino with hazelnut syrup added, plus an obscenely large mound of pink raspberry-flavored whipped cream on top. No mention of any sprinkles, tragically, but at least the baristas won't ask you how many birthday parties you've been to for someone of another race (hopefully).
The Frappuccino has an insane 10.9 million Facebook fans, which is more than Burger King and Arby's combined. Starbucks customers are similarly obsessed with the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which boasts its very own Twitter account with more than 84,000 followers. Other recent Frappuccino flavor innovations include a Seattle Seahawks-themed drink released in the days prior to the Super Bowl and a weird green "Franken Frappuccino" introduced last Halloween.
