The debate over Starbucks’ red cups rages on with some evangelicals accusing the company of leading a War on Christmas by removing snowflakes, snowmen, and ornaments from its cups. The absurdity isn’t lost on Larry Wilmore. The Nightly Show host took most of Thursday evening’s episode to dive into the debate while sipping on his drink of choice: an iced immaculatte from Bethlehem Brew. "First of all Christ and Christmas were never on their cups, also they’re cups," Wilmore says. "But it only takes one spark from a douchey vertical video to set off a firestorm of cup rage."
Wilmore doesn’t stop there. The host takes the opportunity to interview a Starbucks cup and its competitor — a very Christmasy Dunkin Donuts cup. Later, The Nightly Show panel including Norman Lear, Bill Engvall, and Rick Ross, weigh-in on the debate. Watch the full episode on Comedy Central.
