Here's a trailer for Fed Up, a soon-to-be released documentary on the relationship between the food industry and childhood obesity. The film, which hits theaters nationwide on May 9, is directed by Stephanie Soechtig (Tapped) and is executive produced by Academy Award-winner Laurie David (An Inconvenient Truth) and news anchor Katie Couric (who also pulls double duty as narrator).
Major influencers like Dr. Mark Hyman, food scold Michael Pollan, and former president Bill Clinton all make appearances in the trailer, which weaves startling statements and statics like "there are 600,000 food items in America, 80% of them have added sugar" and "over 95% of all Americans will be overweight or obese in two decades" between images of sugar-ladened junk food.
