And now, without further ado, 11 Eater-approved Thanksgiving scenes. Go, watch:
1. Addams Family Values (1993)
Probably the greatest Thanksgiving scene on film. Bonus points for original music and cannibal overtones.
2. Gilmore Girls, "A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving" (2002)
Because deep frying turkey is actually really hard and really scary, and this is one of the best episodes of the show.
3. Dexter, "Hungry Man" (2009)
If you think your Thanksgiving family dinners are tense, just be thankful your dad isn't a serial killer.
4. The Simpsons, "Bart vs. Thanksgiving" (1990)
Here is a true thing about canned cranberry sauce.
5. Friends, "The One With All the Thanksgivings" (1998)
How do you make carrots look sexy? You don't. (Incidentally this is also the one where Monica sticks her head in a turkey.)
6. The Blind Side (2009)
Is there any part of this movie that doesn't pull at the heartstrings and make you hate yourself for feeling so many feelings? No.
7. Funny People (2009)
Just a funny and also depressing toast from Adam Sandler.
8. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)
This is the Thanksgiving you wished you could go to as a kid, full of buttery toast and popcorn and Snoopy in a toque.
9. Mad Men, "Dark Shadows" (2012)
Proof that the Mad Men writers are totally on board the internet's obsession with What Should We Call Me. This is obviously a "When I'm on a stupid diet" gif just waiting to happen.
10. Beverly Hills, 90210, "The Kindness of Strangers (1992)
This is the Thanksgiving-themed soap opera episode to end them all: Brandon brings a homeless person to his family's dinner and it gets uncomfortable; Dylan has dinner with his imprisoned father who's on furlough and there's a lot of yelling; and Steve reveals to his actress mother he's been expelled from school on a Thanksgiving-themed television shoot.
11. Bob's Burgers, "Turkey In a Can" x The National (2013)
While the "Turkey in a Can" episode of Bob's Burgers is great, the real reason this made the list was The National's amazing cover of the episode's Thanksgiving song "Sailors in Your Mouth." Luckily, the Bob's Burgers team then made an animated version of the cover.
