As promised, the Wahlbergs are now slinging burgers in Canada. According to a press release, the family — which includes famous entertainers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg — has opened a location of their casual burger chain Wahlburgers in Toronto. Located inside the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel, the restaurant also serves as a sports bar.
The release promises that the restaurant only serves burgers made with "100 percent Canadian beef." There are also many speciality burgers on the menu including a Thanksgiving-themed burger made with ground turkey, roasted butternut squash, and stuffing. The 120-seat restaurant also serves dishes like sweet potato tater tots, onion rings, and macaroni salads. To drink, there will be beer and something called "adult frappes" which are essentially spiked milkshakes.
Starting in December, the Toronto outlet will also start incorporating "Canadian-themed dishes" as part of its "burger of the month" program, so you can probably brace for poutine and maple-syrup sandwiches.
The Wahlburgers chain — which is also the subject of an A&E reality show — first opened in Hingham, Massachusetts in 2011. The restaurant will soon open locations in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and elsewhere in New England.
